Our last trip back to the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose, and everybody had a great time.

Day 75: Wednesday 16 September

Today should have been amazing. We went whale watching in Monterey, had a school of dolphins swim right past our boat to avoid killer whales (which we also saw up close), had lunch on the wharf (mmm, lots of fish...), followed by ice cream, then found a fantastic playground, by a lake, with bridges and mazes and brilliant climbing structures, and even a steam train. But Joe started the day looking like this:

... and it got worse. Much worse.
He still couldn't ruin the amazing whale watching experience though (although he did ruin the photos of it somewhat).

One of the (very) few sights that has made me happy today; found near the Medical Centre at Stanford Uni when I had two sleeping children.

Day 60: Tuesday 1 September

This photo in no way represents my feelings about this winery. Mediocre wine and we nearly lost my sling (and trust me, life without that sling right now isn't worth thinking about). Although Joe did like the tractor/ trailer ride.

However, mussels and chips at the Glen Ellen Inn (if you're ever in Glen Ellen, go to the inn for food. Trust me), lots of chocolate (in pudding and truffle form), a lovely winery in the afternoon (thanks Landmark), and impromptu visits to Marin Headlands (for views of SF) and the lagoon by the Palace of Fine Arts in SF in the early evening all made up for it.
